* Sri Lankan Minister injured in a road accident

Nov 16, Colombo: The Minister of Resettlement and Disaster Relief services Rishad Bathiyudeen has been injured in a road accident in Vavuniya this evening.

Vavuniya police said that the vehicle carrying Minister Bathiyudeen met with an accident near the Menik Farm welfare camp in Vavuniya.

The accident had taken place when the driver attempted to save a child who was crossing the road just a few feet in front of the vehicle.

The Minister sustained only minor injuries, but the vehicle was badly damaged in the accident, the police said.
