* Myanmar President to visit Sri Lanka

Nov 11, Colombo: The Head of State of Myanmar, Senior General Than Shwe and First Lady Daw Kyaing Kyaing will arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow on an official visit from 12th to 14th of November, government sources said.

During the recent visit to Myanmar, the President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa has extended an official invitation to Senior General Than Shwe to visit Sri Lanka and the invitation was accepted by the Myanmar leader.

The visits by both leaders mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The President of Myanmar and his delegation is expected to pay homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.

The Myanmarian leader will offer a Buddha Pooja and an alms giving for 50 monks both from Malwatte and Asigiri Chapters on Friday the 13th November.

The visit symbolizes the goodwill and unbroken friendly relations between the two countries, the government said.
