Nov 11, Colombo: The newly formed United National Front (UNF) today asked the government not to cheat the people of this country by presenting false details over the foreign reserves.
Speaking at a press briefing held in Colombo this morning, the UNP parliamentarian Laxman Kiriella said that the government is showing the foreign loans as the foreign reserves of the country.
According to the MP Kiriella the exact amount of foreign reserves available in the country is only 1 billion rupees.
"But the government is attempting to say it as Rs. 5 billion, adding the foreign loans as reserves," he added.
The UNF described the foreign loans as the money which does not belong to Sri Lanka government.
