* India releases 51 Sri Lankan fishermen

Nov 11, Colombo: Indian authorities have released another 51 Sri Lankan fishermen, who were held in custody for entering Indian waters illegally, Deputy Fisheries Minister Neomal Perera said.

According to the Deputy Minister the fishermen are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka within the next few days.

He added that the 51 Sri Lankan fishermen were held for the past seven months by Indian officials along with their 9 vessels.

The boats that belong to the fishermen have also been released by the Indian Coast Guard.
