* ICC announces 2011 Cricket World Cup match schedule

Nov 09, Colombo: The International Cricket Council today announced the match schedule for the 2011 one-day World Cup tournament.

The matches of the tournament which runs from Feb. 19 to Apr. 2 will be co-hosted in by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka will be in Group A with Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Canada, and Kenya.

Teams from India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Netherlands will be in group B.

According to the schedule, the defending champion Australia, which defeated 1996 champion Sri Lanka in the final of the 2007 tournament will complete its Group A commitments in Colombo when it will take on 1992 winner Pakistan on 19 March, Sri Lanka will host 12 matches including one quarter-final and a semi-final.

The matches to be played in Sri Lanka:
Feb 20: Sri Lanka v Canada, Hambantota
Feb 23: Pakistan v Kenya, Hambantota
Feb 26: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, Colombo
March 1: Sri Lanka v Kenya, Colombo
March 3: Pakistan v Canada, Colombo
March 5: Sri Lanka v Australia, Colombo
March 8: Pakistan v New Zealand, Pallekale
March 10: Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe, Pallekale
March 14: Pakistan v Zimbabwe, Pallekale
March 19: Australia v Pakistan, Colombo
March 24: Quarter-final, Colombo
March 29: Semi-final, Colombo
