* Tower Hall singer Priscilla Opatha passes away

Nov 09, Colombo: Priscilla Opatha, a one-time great singer who represented the Tower Hall era of music has died in a road accident last night at the age of 83.

A grade 'A' singer of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation had became more popular after her song "Monawada Amme akru Jathiyak” with Kingsely Jayasekara in 1952.

The body of Priscilla Opatha will lay at her house in Rajagiriya and the funeral is to take place on next Wednesday at the Borella cemetery.
