* Sri Lanka President visits sacred Kataragama temple

Nov 07, Kataragama: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the sacred Kataragama Kiri Vehera Temple last night to participate in special religious activities.

The Basnayaka Nilame (custodian) of the Kataragama Devale and the Chief Minister of Uva Province, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, welcomed the President, at the Kataragama Devale premises.

The President worshipped at the Kiri Vehera Temple and joined a special "Bodhi Pooja Pinkama" held at the premises of the Bo tree.

Then he joined a special mass at the famous Kataragama Devale (Hindu Temple).

President Rajapaksa also chatted with devotees during his visit to Kataragama.
