Fri, Nov 6, 2009, 09:37 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Nov 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe says long term plans as well as policies should be introduced to develop the country.

Speaking at a youth forum meeting held in United National Party headquarters this afternoon he said until the long term plans are introduced, the country could never achieve success in development in the future.

According to the Opposition Leader the country needs long term plans and policies lasting for twenty to twenty five years.

"At the moment policies in the country are changing when the minister changes, but it should stop," he stressed.

Opposition Leader said the country needs an immediate change in electoral system before the other changes are made to introduce long term plans and policies.

Finally he asked the youth corps of the United National Party to get ready for accepting those challenges under a UNP government in the near future.
