Nov 06, Colombo: The Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry has taken measures to reduce the prices of several essential items.
Speaking to the media Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the prices of the sugar, canned fish, and dhal had been reduced.
According to the Minister the price of a sugar kilogram will be reduced by Rs. 20.50 and the new price would be Rs. 89.50.
The Price of a kilogram of dhal will be reduced by Rs. 50 while price of a fish can is reduced by Rs. 81, the Minister added.
Minister Gunawardena said the consumers could buy those items with reduced prices at any of the 131 Sathosa branches in the country.
