* President reopens Sri Lanka Air Force Museum

Nov 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa ceremoniously inaugurated the restructured Air Force Museum at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base in Ratmalana today.

President Rajapaksa was welcomed by the former Air Force commanders.

The current Air Force commander Chief Air Marshal Roshan Goonetilleke presented a memento to the President to mark the occasion.

President's Sectary Lalith Weeratunga, Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and other high ranking officers also participated in the event.

The newly opened museum was originally set up as the air craft preservation and storage unit (AP&SU) in 1993. It is the only museum dedicated to aviation and the history of Sri Lanka Air Force in the Island.
