Nov 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka Tourism Minister Nandana Gunatilaka, the General Secretary of the breakaway Marxist party, National Freedom Front (NFF), has resigned from the party, sources said.
Reportedly party's National Organizer Kamal Deshapriya Mannapperuma has joined Gunatilaka in his decision to leave the party they founded with Wimal Weerawansa after breaking away from the Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP).
According to media reports, the Minister has informed the Elections Commissioner of their resignation from the party.
Gunatilaka, the Kalutara District parliamentarian accepted the Tourism Minister portfolio in June 2009.
