Iranian parliamentary delegation in Sri Lanka

Nov 04, Colombo: A six-member Iranian parliamentary delegation is visiting Sri Lanka on an invitation extended by the Speaker to further strengthen the bilateral relations, the government announced.
The delegation headed by parliamentarian Dr. Anou Shiravan Mohaseni, chief of the Iran–Sri Lanka Solidarity Association visited the Parliamentary Complex yesterday and met Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka and the Speaker, W.J.M. Lokubandara.
The visiting team also called on the Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama yesterday at the Foreign Ministry.
During discussions with the FM, the head of delegation Dr. Mohaseni stressed the need for closer cooperation between the two countries and enhancement of bilateral trade relations.
The delegation is expected to call on the President Mahinda Rajapaksa before they depart on Saturday, November 07th.
