Nov 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today announced a salary hike for the security forces with immediate effect.
The President made this announcement when he addressed the troops during a visit to Mannamkulm, Mannar today.
Reminding the time when the country was divided through a ceasefire agreement and how the people were scared of routine bomb explosions, the President expressed his gratitude to the security forces for ending the tragic era of LTTE terrorism.
President Rajapaksa said this salary hike will be a gift for the sacrifices those brave soldiers made during the war.
