Sri Lanka government to develop schools in North

Nov 04, Colombo: Nearly 400 schools in Sri Lanka's Northern region had been closed due to the war, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
Speaking at the parliament this morning the Minister said that the government has already taken steps to reopen 397 schools closed due to the war as quickly as possible in the near future.
According to Minister there are 614 schools in the North currently proceeding with education activities. Nearly 80,585 students are studying at those schools, he added.
The government has allocated Rs. 200 millions for the development of all the schools in the North.
