Nov 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Health Ministry has decided to impose a ban on three Indian companies that import medicines to the country.
Ministry sources confirmed that they have taken this decision after considering the initial report on the investigation conducted over the drug vials contaminated with intrusive materials.
The ban will continue for two years, the Health Ministry added.
Meanwhile the Ministry has also decided to remove all the stocks of the contaminated drug vials from the hospitals.
Two drug importing companies have agreed to refund the money to the government to cover the huge loss incurred by the Health Ministry.
Initial report on the investigation conducted over the contaminated drug vials was handed over to the Health Secretary yesterday.
