Still searching for Sri Lankan asylum seekers, Australian HC says

Nov 03, Colombo: Senaka Walgampaya, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner for Australia says that he is still finding facts over the Sri Lankan asylum seekers believed to have drowned in the Indian Ocean while illegally travelling towards Australia.
When contacted Sri Lankan High Commissioner said there was no conformation over the deaths of local men in the scene, but he is still searching for complete details.
However several international media today reported that two teenage boys aged 13 and 14 were among the missing Sri Lankans feared dead after a boat carrying suspected asylum-seekers capsized near the Cocos Island.
According to the Australian Home Affairs Minister, 39 males including two youths aged 13 and 14 were believed to have been onboard, remain missing after the boat sunk on Sunday night.
One body has been recovered and a two more have been sighted in the water, the international media reported.
Australian authorities have rescued 27 people, some clinging to debris for about 16 hours in the water while 11 people are still missing.
