New country with New Year, says Sri Lanka President

Nov 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that there is no need to launch strikes and other union actions to achieve the demands further in the future.
Speaking at a ceremony held this morning President Rajapaksa said that his government has listened to the voice of the workers all along and will continue it further.
According to the President the working force in this country has supported him and his Government and he expects that they will continue their support.
"I am not waiting until the budget is presented to do the favor for working force of this country," he assured.
President Rajapaksa said the government workers will get salary increases from next January, also with arrears.
Finally he promised to develop the country with the assistance of the working force of this country.
