Nov 03, Colombo: The new opposition alliance named "United National Front" comprising 12 political parties was formed in the parliament premises today.
All twelve parties including Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), Democratic People's Front (DPF), and Sri Lanka Freedom Party – Mahajana Wing (SLFP-M) signed the agreement. The new party is led by the main opposition United National Party (UNP).
The UNP is planning to contest for the upcoming elections in a coalition with other minor parties to put more pressure on the present government.
