Nov 02, Colombo: The Cultural Affairs Ministry has decided to obtain the aborigines' support for the removal of wasp nests from the world famous Sigiriya rock fortress.
The Ministry said that the head of the aborigines along with eight others visited the site today for a fact finding mission.
The leader of the aborigines has promised to remove all the wasp nests from the Sigiriya rock fortress in three steps.
The ancient secret treatments are to use for this purpose, Uruwarige Wannila Aththo, the head of the aborigines told the media.
Over two hundred visitors to the Sigiriya rock fortress have been injured and admitted to the hospital during the past few months due to wasp attacks.
The authorities fear chemical use to eradicate the wasp menace might damage the sensitive world famous frescoes painted inside the rock.
