Sri Lanka ruling party selects candidates for Uva PC election

The candidate for Uva Chief Minister position was not named yet by the ruling party.
May 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka ruling party, United People's Freedom Alliance today concluded the selecting of candidates for the upcoming Uva Provincial Council election.
The member of the nomination committee for Uva PC election, North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayaka said they would announce the selected candidates within the next few days.
However the candidate for Uva Chief Minister position was not named yet by the ruling party.
According to NCP Chief Minister the chief minister candidate for ruling party will be selected by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
However, Sri Lankan media said that the Basnayaka Nilame of the most sacred Katharagama Dewala, Shasheendra Rajapaksa will contest for the Uva PC election as the chief minister candidate.
Shasheendra Rajapaksa, a third generation member of late D.A Rajapaksa, the father of the Sri Lanka President is the elder son of Ports and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
