May 30, Matara: At least two people were killed in a shoot out at a private bus heading from Panakaduwa to Matara in southern Sri Lanka this morning.

According to the police, an unidentified gunman on a motor bike at Mulatiyana city in Matara was responsible for the shoot out. The bus driver is among the dead, police confirmed.

Prior to this incident, the same bus was attacked by an unidentified gunman on four occasions a few months ago.

In those earlier attacks, four persons were killed including two former drivers, police said. They are conducting further investigations.
