According to Ms. Charles, the new houses will be built on 100 acres of the Manik Farm area in Settikulam, Vavuniya.

The government hopes to settle 33,500 internally displaced persons in these houses, she added.

The estimated cost for this project is Rs. 10.1 million. Ms. Charles said they hope to conclude construction before the end of June.
