May 29, Colombo: Udith Lokubandara, the son of Sri Lanka's Parliamentary Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara, has been appointed as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party's new organizer for the Badulla District.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over the appointment letter as his present during Udith Lokubandara's wedding reception, which was held yesterday in Colombo.

President Rajapaksa and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe were the two guarantees of the wedding.

However, it was reported that Udith Lokubandara was earlier named as the organizer for Haputale by the main opposition United National Party.
