* President visits Sri Lankan garment factory in Jordan

May 15, Amman: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday (14) visited a casual wear garments factory in Jordan owned by a Sri Lankan businessman.

The President is on a two-day official visit to Jordan to participate at the G-11 summit scheduled to be held in Amman. During his visit, the President is expected to hold bilateral discussions with several leaders of participating countries.

Chairman and the owner of the factory, Luxman Wasantha Perera and Mrs. Perera along with the factory workers warmly welcomed the President.

Mr. Perera presented a memento to the President and also made a donation of Rs. 2.5 million to the Apiwenuwen Api Fund.

The President addressed the gathering and spent some time with the factory staff.
