Troops of Task Force-8 yesterday unearthed the two torpedoes of each 26 ft in length and 5 ft 7 inches in circumference neatly wrapped in polythene, with their launchers in four different pits of about 12 ft deep, the military said.
Troops also found a complete 130 mm artillery gun without wheels during the same search.
Troops conducting search operations continue to find an extensive array of weapons, bombs, and explosives in the Wanni region either abandoned or buried by the LTTE.
Meanwhile, security forces in Vavuniya arrested an LTTE leader and his deputy on Monday with a 13-year old pregnant girl and an 18-year old girl.
At the time of the arrest the LTTE cadres had two claymore mines, two T-56 weapons, five magazines, and 142 rounds of ammunition in their possession.
Both girls have told the Police that they were abducted and forcibly kept by the two LTTE cadres.
