Old time Sri Lankan actor and director Milton Jayawardena passes away

June 29 Colombo: Milton Jayawardena, a famous actor and a well known director of Sri Lankan cinema has passed away last Saturday.
Milton Jayawardena had started his cinema life in 1967 acting in the famous Sinhala movie 'Sarubima'.
The main role in the Sinhala movie 'Akkara Paha', directed by Dr. Lester James Peiris was Milton's biggest movie and it made Milton Jayawardena popular among the Sri Lankans.
He had directed six popular Sinhala movies in Sri Lanka such as 'Madhuwanthi', 'Nuwan Renu', 'Samawenna', 'Ayachana', 'Sandamali' and 'Bithu sithuwam'. Milton Jayawardena returned to filmmaking with 'Tharaka Mal', in 2007.
The funeral of the late Sri Lankan actor Milton Jayawardena is to be held at Borella cemetery on 1st of July.
