Sri Lanka Trade Ministry establishes a center for consumers to lodge complaints

June 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Ministry of Consumer Affairs has set up a special center to accept complaints from the consumers over various irregularities of the traders.
Minister of Consumer Affairs and Marketing Development Bandula Gunawardena has opened a special counter at the Economic Center in Narahenpita yesterday for consumers to lodge complaints.
The center will receive complaints from the consumers on all illegal trade practices including price gouging, selling of expired items, tampered scales etc.
According to the Minister, the officials of the Consumer Services Authority will act on the complaints as soon as possible.
The special center will be opened from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily for the convenience of the consumers.
