Japanese special envoy arrived in Sri Lanka again

June 29, Colombo: The Japanese special envoy Yashushi Akashi has arrived in Sri Lanka once again this morning.
Sources at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake said that the Japanese special envoy was welcomed by a delegation including the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Kunio Takahashi at the airport.
Yashushi Akashi is in the country to take part in the Sri Lanka Economic Summit scheduled to begin tomorrow at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo.
The Sri Lanka Economic Summit organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) is to be held till 2nd of July under the theme of “Dawning of a new era … Opportunities and Challenges.” The technical sessions, being held from July 1- 2 marks the 10th anniversary of this forum.
Akashi, who holds a B.A. from the University of Tokyo and is a Fulbright scholar at the University of Virginia will be the keynote speaker of the summit.
