LTTE chief's parents taken to Colombo for police probe

June 29, Colombo: Parents of the late LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, who were taken into custody from an IDP camp in Vavuniya were transferred to Colombo for further investigation, police said.
They said that legal action was being taken against them for supporting the terrorism that lasted for nearly thirty years in the country.
"The two of them were being detained at a safer location and will be taken legal action accordingly," a police official said.
Both of them were taken into custody when they were in an IDP camp in Vavuniya few weeks ago.
