June 28, Chillaw: Two suspects held under Chillaw police custody have escaped from their cells last night, police sources said.

According to the Chillaw police the cells haven't been properly locked by the officers on duty last night and the suspects have seized the opportunity and escaped.

One officer who was on duty last night has already been sacked over the issue. A special search operation is underway to arrest the escapees, sources said.
