* Employees of Ministry of Public Estate Management and Development donate one-day pay for the welfare of people in Northern Sri Lanka

July 31, Colombo: All the employees in the Ministry of Public Estate Management and Development and other institutions under the Ministry donated their one-day pay amounting to 2,551,930.96 rupees to use for the people in the North.

The Minister of Public Estate Management and Development, Milroy Fernando handed over the cheque for to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at the Temple Trees.

The contributions came from Sri Lanka State Plantation Cooperation (Rs.597347.08), 'Janatha' Estate Development Board (Rs.1052194.15), Kurunegala Plantation Ltd (Rs. 409789.78), Chelaw Plantation Ltd. (Rs.333008.51), Elekeduwa Plantation Ltd.(Rs. 117020.00), and Ministry of PEMD (Rs. 42571.44).
