* More relief to Sri Lankan Army deserters

July 31, Colombo: The Sri Lankan Army today announced another amnesty period for army deserters, this time a special resignation program.

According to the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters this special resignation program will be launched from August 24th to September 14th.

Under the program all those who had deserted the Army before the 31st of May 2009, will be officially discharged from the service.

This program will be conducted at selected army camps in Ambepussa, Panagoda, Kuruwita, Saliyapura, Boyagane, Ganemulla and Seeduwa.
