* Main suspect of LTTE suicide attack on Sri Lanka Navy personnel arrested

July 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka police has arrested a major suspect of the suicide attack on the Sri Lanka Navy transit camp at Digampathana in Habarana that killed over hundred sailors several years ago.

The Police said the suspect, a top LTTE cadre, who was a resident of Mullaitivu, was the person fixed the bomb on the vehicle that was blasted at the transit camp where over 200 sailors waiting in 16 buses to go on leave.

According to the revealed details the 48-year-old LTTE member has worked at a rebel garage in Mullaitivu for several years.

According to the police, the suspect was arrested in Vavuniya while he was trying to flee the area.

LTTE blasted an explosive-laden truck at the transit camp in Digampathana in October 2006 killing 101 unarmed navy personnel who were going home on leave and injured over 116 more including civilians.
