Sri Lanka wins the first ODI against Pakistan by 36 runs

July 30, Dambulla: Sri Lanka won the first one-day international (ODI) cricket match against Pakistan by 36 runs today at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium.
Pakistan won the toss and made Sri Lanka to bat first. Sri Lanka posted a total of 232 for 9 wickets. Angelo Mathews (43) and Muttiah Muralitharan (32) scored for Sri Lanka from the tail end.
Pakistan in reply managed only 196 runs with all out in the 45th Over. Thilan Thushara took 3-29 and Nuwan Kulasekara 2-30.
The second ODI will be played at the same venue on August 1st.
