Sri Lanka's first eco-friendly museum to open in Sigiriya rock fortress tomorrow

July 27, Colombo: The first eco-friendly museum in Sri Lanka is to open tomorrow at the most famous Sigiriya rock fortress premises, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs announced.
This eco-friendly museum comprising an information center, six exhibition halls, rest rooms, an auditorium, a drama theater, and a relic storage has been established with the assistance from Japan.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has granted Rs. 480 million to this project, the Ministry added.
Sri Lanka government hopes to boost the tourism industry by introducing this kind of eco-friendly museums at selected tourist sites in Sri Lanka.
