* Sri Lanka President meets world leaders at NAM summit

July 15, Sharm el-Sheik: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa this afternoon addressed the head of the states meeting of the 15th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit at the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

On the sidelines of the Summit, President met the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and appraised him of the current situation of the IDPs in the country and his government's efforts to resettle them as soon as possible.

President Rajapaksa also held bilateral discussions with the Serbian President Boris Tadic and Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Sri Lanka's First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa meanwhile attended the First Ladies Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh entitled "Role of Women in Crisis Management".

Mrs. Rajapaksa had a moment to chat with the Indian Prime Minister's wife Gurusharan Kaur later.
