July 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka Air Force today commemorated its war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country since 1971.

A simple, but sententious ceremony was held to commemorate those heroes in Sri Lanka Air Force this morning at the Ratmalana Air Force base.

The chief guest for this occasion, Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke and others paid floral tributes to the Sri Lanka Air Force War Heroes during this ceremony.

According to statistics 57 officers and 357 other rankers in Sri Lanka Air Force have sacrificed their lives for the nation from 1971 to 2009.
