* Cut off marks for entering Sri Lanka universities released

July 02, Colombo: The University Grants Commission (UGC) today released the cut off marks for university admission for students who took the GCE Advanced Level examination in 2008.

The Z-Scores needed to enter various streams of studies in the universities will also be announced today, said Professor Gamini Samaranayake, Chairman of the UGC.

The highest Z-Score cut off marks for Medicine was reported from Galle District with a 1.9470 while it was from the Colombo District for Engineering with a 2.0198.

The lowest Z-Score cut off marks for both Medicine and Engineering were reported from Kilinochchi District with 0.6082 and 0.5265 respectively.

The entire list of cut off marks could be obtained through the official web site of University Grants Commission, www.ugc.ac.lk.
