Sri Lanka's top businessman further remanded

July 02, Colombo: The Mount Lavinia Magistrate today further remanded the Ceylinco Group Chairman Lalith Kothalawela and eight other suspects, who were also the directors of the group over the alleged fraud at the Golden Key Credit Card Company.
When the case related to the fraud at the Golden Key Credit Card Company was heard this afternoon Mount Lavinia Magistrate Harsha Setunga ordered to remand the suspects until July 16th.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today informed the Courts that they have already searched the room of absconding Cecilia Kothalawela, wife of Lalith Kothalawela and also a director of the Ceylinco Group.
The CID has further informed the Courts that the report over the search of Cecilia Kothalawela's room would be submitted on the next hearing day.
Mount Lavinia Magistrate today allowed the permission for one of the suspects who is suffering from cancer to get treatments.
Lalith Kothalawela has been in remand since February this year over the alleged fraud at the Golden Key Credit Card Company.
