July 01, Matara: Police riots units were called in to the premises of University of Ruhuna this afternoon as the students belonging to two factions clashed once again.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Ruhunu University Prof. Gamini Senanayake said they have taken this decision for the safety of the students as well as of the properties.

A clash erupted on June 25th between these two students factions has recurred this afternoon, he added.

In the last week's clash four students were injured and admitted to the hospital.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor said they have asked the police to stay at the university premises for some time.
