July 01, Colombo: The flag hoisting ceremony for the Annual Feast of Our Lady of Madhu will be held on August 06th, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.

Sri Lanka Army yesterday gave the green light for this year's Madhu Feast to be held on August 15 and 16th after the completion of demining and other development issues in and around the church.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs expects nearly 400,000 devotees for this year's festival as the security in the area has been strengthened.

All facilities have been made available for the convenience of the pilgrims, the Ministry confirmed.

Rev. Father Desmond Kulas who is in charge of the administration of the historic Madhu Church says arrangements have been made to hold this year's feast of Our Lady of Madhu on a grand scale.
