July 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka's champion Asian Netball team was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Sports Bandula Basnayake on their arrival today following the conclusion of a successful 7th Asian championship.

Sri Lanka's Sports Ministry held a special reception for the championship winning Sri Lankan team at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.

Sri Lanka team beat reigning champions Singapore 78 to 48 to become the Asian champions after eight years.

Sri Lanka was the only unbeaten team in the 7th Asian Netball Championship just concluded in Malaysia.
