Sri Lanka President appeals to the opposition to end hate politics

Dec 22, Kandy: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today appealing to the opposition to end political campaigns based on hatred said that groups attempting to gain political mileage at the expense of the country and its citizens will receive their due response shortly.
Addressing the teachers and members of the education sector in the Central Province at the hill country capital, Kandy, the President said he used his four decades of political experience to secure the victory of the country and to protect the country from various international and local conspiracies.
President Rajapaksa pointed out that he had initiated mega development programs in the country even while the war was proceeding. Now the country is at peace he assured the audience that he will work to achieve the best living standards for the country.

President Rajapaksa also addressed the chairmen of all SLFP branches in the Central Province today. Mr.S.B. Dissanayake also addressed the meeting. Central Province Governor Tikkiri Kobbakaduwa, Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake, Ministers D.M. Jayaratna, Dilan Perera, Mahindananda Aluthgamage were also present.
