* President pays homage to sacred Kiri Vehera in Kataragama after nominations

Dec 18, Colombo: President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the sacred city of Kataragama and paid homage to the Kiri Vehera temple yesterday night after submitting nominations for the upcoming presidential election.

The Chief Prelate of Kiri Vehera, Ven. Dr. Aluthwewa Soratha Thera, Basnayaka Nilame Shaseendra Rajapaksa, and several party officials were present at the occasion.
