Around 3,000 Maha Sangha, gathered at the Kandy Dalada Maha Maluwa and chanted Pirith to bless the President Rajapaksa.
President also visited the Miram Muslim Mosque and Sri Selva Vinayagar Kovil in Kandy. Kandy Bishop Most Rev. Dr.Viyana Fernando also offered the President well wishes.
On his way to Colombo, the President also visited the Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Pirivena.

Dec 17, Kandy: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited Kandy after his nomination for the presidential election 2010 this morning and received blessings from all religious faiths.
