The Defence Services College was established in 2007 to meet the educational needs of the children of forces personnel.
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Governor of the Western Province Alevi Moulana, Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena, A.H.M Fowzie, Secretary of the Ministry of Highways and Road Development Admiral (retd.) Wasantha Karannagoda, Secretary to the Ministry of Education M.M Bandara, Commanders of the three forces, IGP, Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle, the Principal of the School Pramuditha Wickremasinghe along with many officers of the three forces and police were present at the occasion.

Dec 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today declared open the newly constructed swimming pool and Common Facilities Building of the Defence Services College at a special ceremony this morning.
