Marxist party office in Southern Sri Lanka attacked

Aug 31, Colombo: Starting election related violence ahead of the upcoming Southern provincial council polls, an unidentified group has attacked another Marxist party office in the Hungama Police area of the Matara district.
The Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna announced that a group allegedly belonging to the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has attacked their office in Hungama last night.
The JVP has already lodged a complaint at the Hungama police over the attack.
JVP MP Vijitha MP Herath on Saturday alleged that more than 100 ruling party supporters threw fire crackers at a JVP parade and attacked their party office in Tissamaharama injuring a former JVP councilor and six other party members.
