National Muslim Congress felicitates President
Aug 30, Colombo: The National Muslim Congress party felicitated Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a party convention held at the Akkaraipaththu Public Ground on Saturday, August 29th.
President Rajapaksa addressing the crowd said the whole nation now enjoys peace and freedom and everybody could live in peace and harmony in the country without fear and suspicion. Now the people have nothing to be afraid of in the future to visit churches, to cultivate paddy fields or engage in fishing activities and for schooling their children.
President of NMC, Minister A.L.M. Athaulla presented a letter including a felicitation song and the logo of the party to the President at the meeting.
Minister Douglas Devananda, Chief Minister of Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan (Pillayan), Eastern PC Minister Ananda Dissanayake, Eastern PC Member Wimalasiri Dissanayake, officers of the National Muslim Congress were also present.
