May 09, Colombo: Indian Coast Guard has arrested another group of Sri Lankan fishermen yesterday evening for entering Indian waters illegally.

Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner for India P.M Amza said that a group of 38 fishermen has been arrested with their 8 boats. They have been handed over to the local police in Chennai for further inquiries, he added.

According to the Deputy High Commissioner, fishing in Indian waters are prohibited these days as they are conducting a breeding zone in their waters.

He said that the Indian government would take tough actions against those arrested Sri Lanka fishermen due to this reason.
