* Sri Lanka President commissions Navy sailors, honors Air Force officers

Mar 07, Trincomalee: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the chief guest of the commissioning parade held this evening at the Naval Base in Trincomalee.

President commissioned his son Rohitha Rajapaksa as a sailor of Sri Lanka Navy. First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda also participated in the event.

Earlier in the day President honored Sri Lanka Air Force officers at the annual Colours Awarding Ceremony held at the Trincomalee Air Force Base. President awarded Colours to thirty Air Force officers from different units

Air Force commander Roshan Gunathilaka, Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, and President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga also participated.
